1. Approve time in timesheets
If the Access column for this role’s permission contains a green check mark, a team member in this role can approve the time portion of a timesheet for team members who are subordinates (sit below them in the management structure) and have worked in a location that this team member manages.
Note: You must set the “Approve time in timesheets” access ON before you can change any of the below permissions.
2. Approve pay in timesheets
If the Permission column for this role contains a green check mark, a team member in this role can approve pay in Timesheets for people that are subordinates and have worked in a location that they manage.
Note: A team member can only approve timesheets for people who report to them. Check the reporting settings for subordinates and set the Reports to or Also reports to field to include this access level.
3. Approve timesheets for all areas
If the Permission column for this role contains a green check mark, a team member in this role can approve timesheets for any area of locations that they manage.
Note: This permission is unrelated to the ability of a manager to approve Timesheets generated by employees lent to another location.
To avoid conflicts, this permission should be disabled if the “Manage Areas” permission under Business Setup is enabled.

4. Approve timesheets for all team members in the areas they manage on web
If the Permission column for this role contains a green check mark, a team member in this role can approve timesheets for ALL team members in the locations that they manage using Deputy’s web interface. They can approve timesheets for team members that are superiors, peers as well as subordinates, and they can approve timesheets for themselves.
Note: This permission does NOT apply to the Deputy mobile app.
If you do not wish for this role to approve timesheets for all roles, make sure the “Manage team members from all roles” permission under Global Visibility is also disabled.
5. Approve timesheets outside of the current pay period
If the Permission column for this role contains a green check mark, a team member in this role can approve timesheets after both the pay period and the grace period have passed.
The default grace period is set to 12 hours after the pay period ends.
