Communications
News Feed and Messaging: The News Feed and Messaging features in Deputy allow you to communicate with one or more team members.
The following permission settings are also available on the Communications tab of Business Settings.
Note: Changing the setting on the Communications tab of Business Settings will also change the setting in the Permission table.

1. News Feed Posts
If the Access column for this role’s permission contains a green check mark, a team member in this role can create News Feed posts in locations where they are assigned.
2. News Feed comments
If the Access column for this role’s permission contains a green check mark, a team member in this role can comment on News Feed posts.
3. Access Messaging
If the Access column for this role’s permission contains a green check mark, a team member in this role can view and send messages in Deputy Messaging.
4. Create Messaging groups
If the Access column for this role’s permission contains a green check mark, a team member in this role can create group conversations in Deputy Messaging.
5. Be a Messaging group administrator
If the Access column for this role’s permission contains a green check mark, a team member in this role can change the settings in Deputy Messaging for any group conversation they are a part of. They can add or remove team members from existing group chats and act as a group moderator.
6. Start a Messaging conversation with team members outside of their location
If the Access column for this role’s permission contains a green check mark, a team member in this role can create a new conversation in Deputy Messaging with people who work outside of their assigned locations.
If the Access column for this role’s permission contains a red X, a team member in this role cannot start conversations in Deputy Messaging with people in other locations. Use this permission setting to prevent cross-location conversations if you want to keep team communication within location boundaries.
