Use the Journals report to understand how your team is performing.
What questions can this report help me answer?
- Which team members are receiving negative feedback?
- Which team members are receiving positive feedback?
- Which managers are writing journal entries for their team?
What is in the Journals report?
Filters
The summary stats and all charts and tables in this report will be acted upon using the built-in drop-down menus to select specific:
- Date range (This defaults to the last 30 days but you can select to filter a specific date range if required)
- Location
- Team member name
- Category (Negative, Positive, None)
Note: A category of "None" appears when a category was not specified at the time the journal entry was written.
Summary stats of Journals details
The first section of the report shows a summary of the number of:
- Total journal entries - the number of journal entries over the date range and criteria selected by the filters
- Journals per category - a visual representation of what proportion of journal feedback is positive, negative or none over the date range and criteria selected by the filters
Chart of Journal entries received per month
A column chart displaying a visual representation of what proportion of journal feedback is positive, negative or none each month over the date range and criteria selected by the filters.

Table of Journal entries received per team member
A table displaying the journal entries received for each team member over the date range and criteria selected by the filters.
Click on the + next to each team member's name to expand the rows of data if multiple journal entries have been received. Click - to collapse the rows again. Clicking the + and - next to the Team member header will expand and collapse all rows.
The table of Journal entries received per team member contains the following data fields:
- Team member name
- Total number of journal entries
- Journal Creator
- Journal Created date YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS
- Journal Category (Positive, Negative, None)
- Journal Comment
Table of Journal entries written per author
A table displaying the journal entries received for each team member over the date range and criteria selected by the filters.
Click on the + next to each team member's name to expand the rows of data if multiple journal entries have been received. Click - to collapse the rows again. Clicking the + and - next to the Team member header will expand and collapse all rows.
The table of Journal entries received per team member contains the following data fields:
- Journal Creator
- Total number of journal entries
- Team member name
- Journal Created date YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS
- Journal Category (Positive, Negative, None)
- Journal Comment
