Deputy's approach to MVR from 1 July 2026
Deputy supports the objectives of Member Verification Requests (MVR) and recognises the role they can play in improving the quality of superannuation data.
However, we believe the greatest value comes from capturing and validating employee superannuation information during onboarding, where fund details are first collected.
For this reason, Deputy's approach focuses on delivering compliant onboarding workflows through Deputy HR, helping employers collect accurate information before payroll processing begins.
While we continue to monitor the evolution of MVR across the broader superannuation ecosystem, MVR functionality will not be available in Deputy from 1 July 2026.
How Deputy HR helps manage superannuation compliance
Deputy HR provides new hire onboarding workflows designed to simplify employee setup and reduce administrative effort while supporting superannuation compliance requirements.
Key onboarding features
- Digital Tax File Number declarations
- Digital Choice of Super Fund forms
- Support for super stapling requirements
- Super fund member detail validation through our SuperAPI partnership
- Automatic transfer of onboarding data into payroll
These features help employers collect and validate employee information at the point of onboarding, reducing the risk of errors and minimising manual administration.

Why Deputy is not offering MVR at this time
MVR relies on participation and support across multiple organisations, including super funds and SuperStream service providers.
As industry adoption continues to evolve, we have chosen to focus on delivering a reliable and complete onboarding experience rather than introducing functionality before the supporting ecosystem is consistently available.
MVR remains under consideration as industry readiness, participation, and adoption continue to mature.
