Note: Deputy Payroll is currently only available in Australia.
Deputy Payroll is a fully integrated payroll solution that turns timesheets into payroll with zero clicks - no separate login or export required. It supports STP Phase 2 compliance, multi‑entity handling, award updates, and employee self‑service, all within your existing Deputy account.
How do I subscribe to Deputy Payroll?
System Administrators will be prompted to subscribe to Deputy Payroll if they click on the Payroll tab in the web app (AU customers only).
If you haven't trialled Payroll before, you'll be given a free 30-day trial period.
To continue using Deputy Payroll after your trial, System Administrators can subscribe in the Billing section of their account.
1. Log into once.deputy.com and click Settings on the business you would like to subscribe to Deputy Payroll.
2. On the Subscriptions tab, find Payroll under the Explore add-ons section, and click Subscribe.

3. Review the projected subscription costs in the Order summary section, then click Purchase to confirm your Payroll subscription.
Note: Customers on an Annual base plan will have the option to choose either an Annual or Monthly billing schedule for their Deputy Payroll subscription. Read more about our annual billing options and pricing for Deputy Payroll.
If you're on a Monthly base plan, you'll have a monthly billing schedule for your Deputy Payroll subscription.

Why can't I subscribe to Deputy Payroll?
The Deputy Payroll 'Subscribe' button will not be shown in your account if:
- you are an Enterprise customer. In this case, please contact your Account Manager to subscribe to Messaging+.
- you have a custom price for your Deputy plan. In this case, please contact your Customer Success Manager to subscribe to Messaging+.
- you have subscribed to Deputy through a third-party billing service. Xero or Apple app customers will need to cancel their Deputy subscription through Xero or the Apple app store and manage their subscription directly with Deputy to subscribe to Deputy Payroll. Customers who have subscribed to Deputy through other third-party billing services will need to contact Support to subscribe to Payroll.
Note: only users with the access permission level of System Administrator have access to subscribe to Messaging+.
