What are the limitations when using Micro-scheduling
These are some aspects of micro-scheduling that are still in development and will be improved in future versions:
Important
- Micro-scheduling is a one-way rollout; once you enable it, you won't be able to revert it.
- Micro-scheduling can currently only support a single pay rate applied to all parts of the micro-scheduled shift assigned to a single employee. This means you cannot pay an employee via multiple pay rates within the same shift.
On Mobile Apps
- Manager clock-in/out is only available for single-area shifts.
- Geo Fencing is only available for single-area shifts, and no Geo Fencing is on a micro-scheduled timesheet.
- Employees can only modify their timesheet during a shift for single-area shifts.
- For a Micro-scheduled shift, they can always modify the timesheet during clock-out.
On Desktop Browser
-
Auto-build is not supported. If you utilise auto-build, only single-area shifts will be created.
- Note: While auto-build isn’t compatible with micro-scheduling, auto-fill is. It will automatically assign an employee suitable for all parts of an unassigned micro-scheduling shift.
- Dashboard widgets not yet supported. This support is for single-area shifts only.
- Extensions under Location settings are not compatible with micro-scheduling
- Timesheet approval no longer offers area grouping when scheduling is enabled.
On the Deputy Time Clock App
- Downloading and setting up the new Deputy Time Clock App is required (Legacy Kiosk Apps won’t support Micro-scheduling)
- The new Time Clock App currently has:
- No offline mode.
- No Newsfeed.
- No employee self-serve features around shift swapping/offering, leave/unavailability requests.
