This article explains the permissions for Deputy's reporting and business insights tools - Deputy Analytics and Classic Reports (Discontinuing). It can help you select the appropriate permissions when creating a custom access level.

Feature update: Custom access levels has a new look in Business settings. The changes are being gradually rolled out and will soon be available in all eligible Deputy accounts. If you're not on the new access level experience, go to Classic custom access levels and permissions (Discontinuing).

What these icons mean

Analytics permissions
These permissions determine who can access and manage Analytics reports, giving visibility into operational performance, labor trends, and cost and wage data.
Tip: If you want managers to monitor their own location's KPIs and data trends, we suggest giving them access to View analytics. Many organizations choose to reserve the Manage analytics permission for trusted administrators who need to share reports across the entire organization.
View analytics
Dependencies: Turning this permission ON will automatically enable the following six (6) permissions: (1) Manage schedules...In assigned locations, (2) View shift costs for lower access levels, (3) View shift costs for all access levels, (4) View team member information, (5) Edit team member pay details, and (6) Manage schedules...All team members.

If turned ON: Users can view, filter, and download Analytics reports for their managed locations.

If turned OFF: Users cannot access Analytics reports.
Manage analytics
Dependencies: Turning this permission ON will automatically enable the following seven (7) permissions: (1) View analytics, (2) Manage schedules...In assigned locations, (3) View shift costs for lower access levels, (4) View shift costs for all access levels, (5) View team member information, (6) Edit team member pay details, and (7) Manage schedules...All team members.
- If turned on: Users can create, edit, share Analytics reports for their managed locations.
- If turned off: Users cannot create or share new reports, they'll have read-only access to existing analytics reports (if "View analytics" is on).
Classic reports and metrics permissions
These permissions manage access to Deputy's original reporting suite and specific data within Business Insights.
Note: Access may not be available to some customers as Report Builder (Beta) and some classic reports are being discontinued.
View classic reports and metrics

If turned on: Users can view assigned classic reports and run business insights metrics.

If turned off: Classic reports are hidden.
Manage classic reports and metrics
Dependencies: Turning this permission ON will automatically enable the following permission: View classic reports and metrics.

If turned on: Users can create, edit and manage assigned classic reports and business insights metrics.

If turned off: Users will have read-only access to classic reports and business insights metrics (If "View class reports and metrics" is turned on).
