About superannuation in Deputy Payroll
Deputy Payroll uses Beam Super via our STP provider to manage superannuation payments. Before you can start a pay run in Deputy you will need to sign up for a Beam Super Clearing house, nominate a payment method for your superannuation payments and set a default superannuation fund in Beam.
Using Beam Super as your superannuation clearing house is not mandatory to use Deputy Payroll, however it is the only way to get digital SuperStream contributions processed directly from Deputy Payroll.
Please note, neither Deputy nor our STP provider provides financial product advice, nor recommends any particular clearinghouse provider, including Beam, and you are not required to use Beam.

In Deputy Payroll, select Superannuation from the left-hand side and click on the Select ABN drop-down menu.
Click to select the entity you wish to configure Superannuation for.

If you prefer to use another account for superannuation payment, you can click on Add another and enter the Bank account name, BSB and account number of the other bank account and click Save.
If you realise you have made a mistake or wish to remove an account from the Beam superannuation set up, simply click on the bank account details to highlight and select it and then click Remove.
Once you are happy with the bank account details entered for superannuation direct debits, click Next.

Default Super fund
This is where your business's default superannuation fund is displayed. You can change it if required.
Default super minimum
This is the minimum amount an employee must earn in a month before the employer is required to pay superannuation to that employee. Generally, you would not use this field as the $450 minimum earning threshold was removed by the Australian Government on 1 July 2022. If you choose not to use this field, leave it as the default $0.00. If you do need to use this field, it must be set per employee.
The amount you specify here is the default amount added when an employee is added to Deputy Payroll.

Maximum Super
If your employees earn above the Maximum Contribution Base, super may not be required to be paid for any earnings above the base. In this field you can choose to either pay super over the Maximum Contribution Base by selecting Pay employee super above base or maintain the Maximum Contribution Base limits by selecting Pay employee super up to base.
