This article outlines Deputy’s default access levels and the permissions assigned to each one.
Before you read
- Target audience: This article is for users with System Administrator access.
- Plan variations: All Deputy plans include built-in access levels. If you're on a Pro or Enterprise plan, you have ability to create custom access levels.

How do access levels work in Deputy?
Access levels determine what your team members can see and do in Deputy.
When you invite a team member to Deputy, you assign them an access level based on their role. Each access level comes with a set of pre-defined permissions.
Deputy has seven (7) default access levels, which cannot be modified:
- Advisor
- Employee
- Supervisor
- Location Manager
- Payroll Manager (Deputy Payroll only)
- Payroll Administrator (Deputy Payroll only)

Note: If you're on a Pro or Enterprise plan, you can create custom access levels to suit your business needs.
