- Uploading kiosk timesheet photos
Before you begin
Ensure you fulfil the following criteria:
- You will need to have System Administrator, Location Manager or Advisor access to your Deputy account
- You will need to have a Dropbox or Box account. You can create an account for either here:
- You will also need to turn off your pop-up blocker so you can successfully connect your service with Deputy. Follow the links below for instructions on how to do this based on your web browser:
Connecting to Dropbox/Box
Connecting to either Dropbox or Box works the same way. Read Connecting New Integrations for an introduction to connecting to third-party systems.
1. Select either Dropbox or Box, depending on the service you would like to use and log in to that service.
2. A pop-up window will appear. Use your Dropbox/Box credentials to log into your Dropbox/Box account.
3. Grant Deputy access to you Dropbox / Box account. Note that is you have multiple Dropbox/ Box accounts you will be asked to select which one you are granting access to (as shown below).
Setting up the Dropbox/Box extension
1. After successfully connecting your Dropbox/Box account to your chosen Deputy location, click on Configure.
2. Activate the extension for New photo > Dropbox (or Box) Upload
3. Select DeputyPhotos and click Save.
You can see which extensions have been activated for each location when you return to the Integration configuration page.
Uploading kiosk timesheet photos
After you have established the connection between Dropbox/Box, Deputy will automatically create a folder called DeputyPhotos inside your Dropbox/Box account which creates a path for these photos to be saved.
A folder called DeputySalesData is also automatically created to be used for the Dropbox sales file upload integration should you choose to activate that extension.
Once the Dropbox/Box integration is activated, the Kiosk photos from each timesheet in the location you selected will automatically upload to the Apps / Deputy / DeputyPhotos folder in Dropbox/Box.
The photo has a file name that includes the date, time name and whether it was a clock in or clock out photo as shown in the example below.
You can also return to the Integrations page, open the extension and run the extension on command and specify how far back in time you wish to upload photos for. The extension will report how many photos were uploaded for that period.
