Before you adjust a partial sick day
When a team member starts their shift but leaves early because they're unwell, you'll need to record both the time they worked and the leave taken for the remainder of the shift.
This is completed in two parts:
- Update the existing worked timesheet.
- Add a leave timesheet for the remaining time.
Adjust a timesheet for a partial sick day
Update the time worked
Open the existing timesheet from Approve Timesheets, update the recorded finish time and any breaks so they reflect the time the team member actually worked, then click Approve. If you're working through multiple timesheets, select Approve and next to continue to the next timesheet.
The approved timesheet now reflects the portion of the shift the team member worked. If you need to add additional context, you can also add a manager comment to the timesheet.
Add leave for the remaining time
Once the worked timesheet is correct, add a leave timesheet for the remaining part of the shift.
-
From the Add button option, click Add leave.
- Confirm or enter the leave details below before clicking Approve.
- Team member
- Date
- Start and finish time for the leave portion of the shift
- Leave type
-
Meal or rest breaks, where applicable
-
The leave timesheet is then marked as Approved alongside the worked timesheet for the same shift. If you need to make any changes to either shift, see How to edit a timesheet.
