Who can create polls?
Polls can be created by System Administrators and teams members with permission to manage groups.
Accessing polls in the Web App
Find the Communications tab in the top navigation bar, then click on it to open a drop-down menu.
Select Messaging from the drop-down.
In the Messaging view, open the relevant group message or group chat.
Click the + button next to the text input field, then select Poll.
This will open a new Create Poll window. You're ready to create your poll.
Accessing polls in the Mobile App
Tap the Messaging button in the bottom navigation bar. This section includes both Messaging and your News feed.
In the Messaging view, open the relevant group message or group chat.
Tap the paperclip icon at the bottom of the screen. This will reveal additional menu icons.
Select the poll icon circled below.
This will open a new Create Poll window. You're ready to create a poll.
Creating a poll
In the Question field, enter the question you'd like to ask the group. Then, in the Options field, list the choices team members can vote on.
There’s no limit to how many options you can add, but we recommend keeping it to five or fewer to help highlight clear themes in the responses.
There are four optional settings you can use to customise your poll. To enable a setting, switch the toggle ON.
-
Multiple answers - Allows team members to vote for more than one option. You can assign a maximum of 10 votes per person.
-
Anonymous poll - Hides voter identities. By default, votes are visible to you and other team members.
-
Suggest an option - Lets team members suggest additional poll options.
- Add a comment - Creates a dedicated chat thread to the poll, keeping related discussions in one central place.
When you've finished, you'll need to confirm you are ready to publish the poll.
On the Web App, click the Create button at the bottom of the window.
Note: On some Web Apps, you may see a blank space instead of a Create button. If you click in the blank space, to the right of the Cancel button, your poll will still be published.
On the Mobile App, click the Send icon at the top of the screen to launch the poll.
Viewing poll results
You can view poll results at any time while the poll is active by visiting the original post. A summary of responses is shown in preview format.
For a more detailed view of who voted and when, click View results.
Note: If you enabled the Anonymous poll setting, you won't be able to view who voted for what.
