Once you have set up the Deputy Time Clock app on your device you are ready for your team to start clocking in.

Clock in with a PIN
To clock into the Deputy Time Clock app with a PIN, tap on your name from the Team member list.
If you can't easily see your name on the list, try searching for it using the Find yourself search bar.
Type your name and hit enter to find your account, then tap on your name.
If your name is still not found, please speak with your manager. Your profile may not be associated with the location for which this Time Clock is set up.
Enter your 4-digit PIN to unlock the Deputy Time Clock app.
Forgot your PIN? Simply tap Forgot PIN to have it sent to you by SMS or email.
Clock in with Face Unlock
Suppose your manager has set up the Deputy Time Clock app to allow team members to clock in using Face Unlock. In that case, team members who have uploaded a profile photo to Deputy can use Face Unlock to authenticate themselves when unlocking the Deputy Time Clock app.
Tap on Clock in with Face Unlock from the team member list.
Present your face to the camera and hold still while Deputy matches your face to the photo in your profile. You will be asked to try again or log in with your PIN if a match cannot be made.
Note: The first time you log into the Deputy Time Clock app, you will need to clock in with a PIN and then enable Face Unlock.
Start shift
Once you have logged into the Deputy Time Clock app via PIN or Face Unlock you can start a shift.
You can start a scheduled shift or an unscheduled shift:
Scheduled shift
1. If you have a scheduled shift, you will see it at the top of the team member list when you go to clock into the Deputy Clock app. Tap on your name to log in via PIN or tap on Clock on with Face Unlock to clock in via Face Unlock if enabled.
2. Tap Start shift
3. You can see the Location, areas you have been scheduled to work, and any meal or rest breaks.
Add an optional comment and tap Start shift.
If your workplace requires a photo to be taken when a Times Clock shift is started, the device may take a photo of you, which will be stored on your timesheet.
4. Once the shift has started you will see the minutes you have been on shift displayed in the Time Clock. You can tap Log out, or the Deputy Time Clock will automatically log you out after approximately 20 seconds.
Unscheduled shift
1. Tap on Start unscheduled shift.
2. Select the Location and Area you will be working in.
3. Enter a comment if you wish and tap Start shift.
4. If your manager has selected an option to require a photo when you start and end shifts on the Time Clock, you must hold still while your photo is taken. The clock will count down from 3, 2, 1, and then take the photo. This photo will be stored on your timesheet.
5. Once the shift has started, you will see the minutes you have been on shift displayed in the Time Clock. You can tap Log out, or the Deputy Time Clock will automatically log you out after approximately 20 seconds.
Start and end break
1. When you are ready to take a break, log into the Deputy Time Clock app and tap on Start break.
2. Select the break you wish to start and tap Start.
3. The amount of time left on your break will display. You can tap Log out, or the Time Clock will automatically log you out after approximately 20 seconds.
4. While you are on break, your profile photo will appear in the Coming up section of the Team members list, displaying a yellow dot along with the number of minutes you have left on your break.
6. When you are ready to return to work and end your break, simply log in to the Deputy Time Clock app and tap on End break.
End shift
When you are ready to end your shift, log into the Deputy Time Clock app and tap on End Shift.
The shift details will be displayed and if you are happy with them, you can add an optional comment and then tap on End shift.
If your workplace requires a photo to be taken when a Time Clock shift is ended, the device may take a photo of you, which will be stored on your timesheet.
If you need to edit any of the shift details before you end the shift, read below on how to make these changes:
Editing the time worked
If you need to adjust the time of the shift that you have worked, simply tap on the time you need to adjust
and use the time selectors to adjust the time then tap OK.
The new time will appear in shift details.
Note: If you change the time you worked in one area, the Deputy will always automatically amend the times worked in the other areas to ensure there are no gaps within the shift.
Editing the areas worked
To add another area you worked tap on the + icon
Tap to select the area you wish to add:
To change the area you worked in, tap on the area name:
Tap on Change area and select another area or Delete area.
The new areas will be displayed and you can adjust the times worked in each area as required.
Note: If you change the time you worked in one area, the Deputy will always automatically amend the times worked in the other areas to ensure there are no gaps within the shift.
Editing the breaks taken
If you have taken a break during your shift, it will appear at the bottom of the shift details screen.
Tap on it to edit the time or delete it.
Or you can also add another break.
To edit the time, you can select from some common time periods or select a custom time using the time selectors.
Tap Done once you have selected the correct break time, or Delete break if you wish to remove it.
You can also add additional breaks by selecting the break type (paid or not paid), setting the time of the break, and tapping Done.
The shift and break details will be displayed. If you are happy with them, you can add an optional comment and then tap on End shift.

Enable or disable Face Unlock
The very first time you log into the Deputy Time Clock app, you will need to use the PIN, but if you would like to opt in to use the Deputy Face Unlock feature to log in next time, you can enable that by tapping on the Settings cog icon at the top of the screen.
Toggle ON Face Unlock, then tap Done. Next time you clock in, you can use either Face Unlock or PIN to clock in.
If you wish to disable Face Unlock, tap on the toggle again to disable it.
