| Important Notice |
| The Developer tab is for advanced technical setup. It should only be used by developers, programmers, or those who work directly with them. Making changes without the proper knowledge can affect how your Deputy account connects with other systems. |
What is the Developer tab?
The Developer tab provides options for connecting Deputy with other applications and services. These tools are not used in everyday account management but allow technical experts to build custom connections if your business needs them.
Here’s what you’ll see:
- OAuth Clients: This area lets developers set up secure applications to connect to your Deputy account. It’s used when building custom tools that need access to Deputy data. You can learn more about how to set up this feature here.
- Webhooks: Webhooks automatically send information from Deputy to another service when certain events occur (such as a shift being updated). A developer can use them to keep different systems in sync. You can learn more about how to set up this feature here.
- API Documentation: This is where developers can find detailed guides on connecting Deputy with other systems using our API. You can also access that here.
When should I use these settings?
Most businesses will not need to use the Developer tab. All standard setup and management can be done through other areas of Business Settings. You should only use this tab if:
You have a developer or technical team building a custom integration.
A third-party service you use has asked you to provide information from here.
You can safely ignore this tab if you are not working with a developer or are unsure of what these options mean.
Accessing the Developer tab
If you are logged in as a System Administrator or Advisor, you can access Business Settings from the drop-down menu under your name on the Deputy website.
Once inside Business Settings, navigate to the Developer tab.
