While setting up your Deputy account, you will be asked to add your team members to Deputy.
If you have an existing Xero account with your team member information stored there you can connect your Xero account to Deputy and bulk add your team from Xero.
The method described below allows you to import your team from Xero now, while also giving the option to invite them to join Deputy at a later stage. This might be helpful if you are still trialling or setting up your Deputy account.
1. On the People tab, click on Add People then select Add muliple Team members.
2. In the field These people work at select the Location you would like to add your team to by selecting it from the drop-down menu. You can add your team to more Locations or change the Location assigned later.
3. In the Import or Upload a file menu, select Xero Payroll.
4. If you have not yet connected your Deputy account to Xero you will be asked to log in to Xero. Enter your Xero account login credentials and click Log in. If you have already connected your account to Xero you will skip straight to Step 6 below.
5. The name of the organisation you are trying to connect to in Xero will be displayed. Click Allow access to allow Deputy to connect to Xero.
If you have access to multiple organisation files in Xero, then you will be asked to choose which Xero organisation from the dropdown menu you wish to allow access to this Deputy Location.
6. Your team will appear in the list including Name, Email and phone number (if these details are stored in Xero).
You can manually add others or delete any you do not wish to add using the trash can icon.
Consider whether you wish to toggle ON the Send invitational email option now to invite our team to join and log in to Deputy now or toggle it to OFF and invite them at a later stage.
Once you are happy with the list, click Add People and the team's details will be added to your Deputy account.

Note: this video assumes you have already connected your Xero account to Deputy.
