A staff member can always change or cancel a leave request if it is still in an 'Awaiting' approval state. This can be done on both on Deputy web application or mobile apps (iOS & Android).

Web app:

A quick how-to GIF

Step by step:

1) On the Web application (example.na.deputy.com) of your Deputy account, click the 'Hello, your name' menu on the top right corner and then click 'Profile'

2) A side-bar will appear with your employee profile. Here navigate to the 'Leave' section, and click 'View' on the leave request that you want to change or cancel.

3) This will now open the details of the leave request, from here you may amend the

  • dates of the leave request
  • leave type
  • comment
  • notifying manager

and then re-submit the leave request.

Or simply you can click 'Cancel Request' to cancel the leave request and your manager will no longer need to action this.

Mobile app:

1) Navigate to the 'Me' tab of your Deputy app

2) Tap of 'Leave' under Time-Off

3) Now you will be able to see a list of all your leave requests, here you can click which leave request you want to change or cancel

4) Finally you will be presented with the leave request details which you may change and then tap 'Update' on the top-right-hand corner.

5) Or simply 'Cancel Leave Request' if you want to retract and cancel the leave request.

How do I cancel or change a leave request that is already approved by my manager?

An employee can only change or cancel a leave request if it is already Approved if both the following criteria are met:

  • the Deputy account has 'Allow employees to amend or cancel their approved leave request' is enabled within Business Settings > Leave.
  • the leave request is at a future date

Note: An employee can only change or cancel this approved leave request within the Web-app, not supported on our mobile-apps just yet.
