HPSSA Interpretation

There are 6 sectors for Full-Time and Part-Time;

There are 9 sectors for Casuals - All casuals must be paid for a minimum of 3 hours (cleaners in a Private Medical Practice 2 hours)

When you allocate the Employment Term to each employee, you will be required to place the employee’s base rate in the system. Once this base rate is applied the following multipliers will apply; (*Casual Employees do not receive weekly Overtime (21.3)*)

How to Add Allowances

To add the allowances into the export please follow the below instructions;

  1. Approve the timesheet
  2. Unapprove the pay (bottom right)
  3. Add in the shift loading and number of units/hours
  4. Approve the pay 

Conditions that have not been included

Who is affected - What should happen - Can this be done in Deputy

  • Shiftworkers - If annual leave is taken on a weekend the higher of the 2 loadings (either weekend penalties or base pay + leave loading) should be paid - This will need to be done in your payroll system as Deputy only records the day as Annual Leave
  • All Employees - Higher Duties: If an employee works at a higher classification, pay the higher rate - This can be done in Premium through Area based pay
  • Part Time Employees - Overtime should be calculating at the employees “Ordinary Hours” per week - This can be done in Enterprise
  • All Employees - Automated Allowances - This can be done in Enterprise
